Hiking to Koniavitis Thermal Springs of Kamena Vourla
The hike to the Koniavitis Thermal Springs at the foot of Mount Knimis, in Kamena Vourla, which are known for their healing properties, are located 4.2 km from Hotel Sissy, it is a pleasant route and relatively easy through the coastal road of Kamena Vourla.
The first observer of the sources, with healing properties was Herodotus (484-410 BC), who recommended that bath therapy be done at certain times of the year and for 21 consecutive days. The waters of natural or thermal springs are waters that spring from rocks and rocks that come out of the bowels of the earth.
The walkers will have the opportunity to pass through the spa town of Kamena Vourla, to drink their coffee or to taste the local delicacies by the sea and to be enchanted by the combination of mountain and sea offered by Kamena Vourla. Continuing towards Lamia, at the roundabout, you take the 3rd exit. At 250m you turn slightly to the right and at 600m to the right are the springs of Koniaviti (there are signs that will easily take you there). They have outdoor pools with water temperature 33 ° C which contain hydrogen sulfide and are suitable for respiratory diseases, rheumatism, chronic asthma, bronchitis and rhinitis.
Continuing 300 meters, towards Lamia and turning left, you will find other springs that are suitable for their beneficial properties on the skin, hence their name Cosmetic Baths. There are two more small pools with different temperatures 35 to 36 ° C and a stone one. , larger, where they mix thermal water from four thermal springs. It is clearly more impressive and in harmony with the natural environment. There, hikers will relax and enjoy a warm and beneficial bath in the lush landscape. Access to the springs is free and their waters contain mainly sulfur and sodium.

Hiking to Asproneri, Kamena Vourla
Hiking on the beach of Asproneri, is a pleasant route almost next to our Hotel, just 1.6 km. to Agios Konstantinos. The route is through a coastal road without uphills. The beach overlooking the Gulf of Malia and Lichadonissia has crystal clear waters and organized beach bar, with sunbeds and umbrellas. It is the most popular beach in Fthiotida, next to Kamena Vourla. Nearby you can see Lake Asproneri, which is a protected area due to the unique natural environment where swans have settled there. The Wetland has been known for several years that it is used as a stopover in the travels of passport birds (Swans, Ducks, Coots, etc.).
During periods of heavy snowfall, the birds overwintered in the Lake. The small wetland is a vital support for them. Millions of migratory birds, which cross the Mediterranean every year, rely on such small wetlands to find shelter, rest and food.

Hiking to the Monastery Μetamorfosis Sotiros, above Kamena Vourla
The hike to the Monastery of Sotiros, above Kamena Vourla, located 6.2km from Hotel Sissy and 323m. altitude. It is a pleasant route through the coastal road of Kamena Vourla. Walkers will have the opportunity to pass through the spa town of Kamena Vourla, to taste the local delicacies, to walk by the sea but also to be enchanted by the combination of mountain and sea offered by Kamena Vourla.
Finally, the route to the Monastery is with continuous uphill, for advanced walkers, who prefer distance, endurance and strong uphills.
The enchanting beauty of the monastery, the variety of landscapes and the view of Lichadonissia where according to mythology, were formed by the body of Lichas. Dianeira, the wife of Hercules, thinking that he was cheating on her, sent him a medicine tunic with Licha. Hercules when he put on the tunic began to suffer from horrible pains and in a rage grabbed Licha and threw him into the sea. The Lichadonissia were formed from the members of his body. It is also said that the Great Round is his head. Also, the view of the Strait of Artemisio where according to the ancient Greek history took place in parallel with the battle of Thermopylae, the sea clash between Greeks and Persians, during the second Persian invasion.

Hiking to Karya
At a distance of just 15.4 km from Hotel Sissy and at an altitude of 789m. You will find the picturesque settlement of Karya in a separate route, full of firs, trees and oaks.
The route starts through the coastal road of Kamena Vourla and continues with the ascent to Mount Knimis. In the middle of the route, there is the Monastery of the Savior which dates back to the 7th century AD. and is an emblematic presence for our place. A short stop for photos is necessary.
The route to the traditional village is with continuous uphill for advanced walkers. Today the beautiful village of Karya counts a few inhabitants, but a tavern – a diamond. The “Traditional” tavern of Giannis Kefalas, the variety of landscapes and the amazing sea view along the way, are the perfect tour for those who prefer distance, endurance and strong uphills.

Day 1
Departure from the hotel. We are going to see were the battle of Thermopyles took place. The hiking starts a bit
higher, at the «path of Efialths». It is said that this is the path that Efialths lead Xerxhs and his Persian army to
defeat Leonidas and his army of 300. The view from the path is panoramic so we can see the place of battle and
imagine the whole thing

Visit the statue of Leonidas and the place of battle. Next to this there are streams of natural warm “healing”

Day 2
Hiking at the «Path of Railway». At the end of the 19th century a French company built the Greek railway. The
area of mount Kallidromo was difficult to go to nevertheless to built something there so they had to take the
equipment there trough some paths therefore the «Path of Railway». It is a path sculpted on the rock next to
cliffs and through tunnels.

Day 3
Hiking on mount Kalidromos. With start point the village Eleytherohori at 900 m above the sea the path takes us
to a magical lake at 1150m. Surrounding the lake are tall and old trees. To continue our hike we go further up
the mountain to the top. The view from the top Paliovoros is fantastic. From there you can see all the mountains
of central Greece (Parnassos 2455m., Vardoysia 2495m.,Giona 2510m. etc).
